After Care

1) Leave bandage or wrap on your tattoo for a minimum of 2-3 hours after session.

2) When at home, wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap, then gently remove bandage.

3) At sink or shower, use warm running water to clean and wash tattoo with antibacterial soap by massaging the soap around the tattooed area. Ensure bodily fluid and ink are free from the tattooed area. You may need to apply antibacterial soap and rinse several times.

4) Once the tattooed area is thoroughly rinsed and clean, pat dry with a paper towel. DO NOT USE any cloth towel (i.e. hand towel, showering towel.) Cloth towels can harbor bacteria that could infect the tattooed area if in contact.

5) Allow tattooed area to air dry for 5-10 minutes.

6) Apply a small amount of either A&D/Aquaphor ointment to the tattooed area.

7) Repeat this cleaning and ointment applying process 2-3 times/daily for the next 4 days, ensuring the tattooed area is not dry, but also is not heavily saturated with healing ointment.

8) After 4 days, or whenever the peeling process has begun on tattooed area; Wash to tattooed area once/daily and begin to apply a fragrance-free lotion like Lubriderm or Curel to tattooed area.

***This is ESSENTIAL*** Investing in taking the time to ensure your tattoo is adequately moisturized, is investing in the quality end result of the way the tattoo heals and ultimately the way it will look!

9) Ensure the tattooed area is sufficiently moisturized at all times. "Just Right" is a delicate balance between 'bone dry' not enough and 'caked on' too much. Make sure your tattooed area is moisturized "Just Right" throughout the day/night, usually lotion surface 4-6 times/daily.

10) Repeat this process for a week and a half to two weeks.

11) Tattoos look the best when the skin is properly moisturized, so think of applying lotion to your tattoos as a lifestyle choice. Your tattoo will its best and you will be aiding in your own anti-aging protocols. So apply that lotion! Everyday! And look great!
